Volleyball Recap: Eight Straight Home Wins for Upper Arlington

Upper Arlington had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Beavercreek Beavers. The Golden Bears have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Beavers, too.

While Upper Arlington might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Beavercreek scored at least 21 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 23-25, 25-23, 25-21.

William Poth paced Upper Arlington's offense, picking up 25 kills. Poth got some help from Abhiram Busi and his 40 assists. Poth was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Despite the defeat, Beavercreek saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sebastian Pacheco had 14 digs and six assists. Bruno Craft also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Upper Arlington pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Beavercreek, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.

Upper Arlington has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Centerville on the 5th. As for Beavercreek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Hilliard Davidson on the 5th.
