Softball Game Preview: Crescent City Raiders vs. Trinity Catholic Celtics

The Crescent City Raiders will take on the Trinity Catholic Celtics at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crescent City will be strutting in after a win while Trinity Catholic will be coming in after a defeat.

Crescent City is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They put the hurt on Father Lopez with a sharp 16-1 victory. Considering the Raiders have won nine matches by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Caylee Goff was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Goff was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Crescent City got a massive performance out of Ayrianna Back, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. That's the most hits Back has posted over her last nine games. Alyssa Allmon was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Vanguard hit Trinity Catholic with a four-run third inning last Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Celtics took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The Celtics have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Trinity Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Crescent City, their record now sits at 10-14.
