Softball Recap: Nation Ford Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Catawba Ridge

On Saturday, Nation Ford faced Catawba Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Nation Ford Falcons lost 12-0 to the Catawba Ridge Copperheads. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Falcons were not able to get on the board.

Nation Ford's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Catawba Ridge, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Nation Ford's road trip will continue as they head out to face Gray Collegiate Academy at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Nation Ford 2.8, Gray Collegiate Academy 2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Catawba Ridge, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on Fort Mill at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Catawba Ridge knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Fort Mill likes a good challenge.
