Softball Recap: Capital Jaguars vs. Sandia Matadors
Capital had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 12-9-1 on Saturday that streak is in the rearview. They walked away with a 10-6 win over the Sandia Matadors. The Jaguars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Matadors, too.
Ava Martinez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on four hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jadyn Padilla, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Brooklyn Cardenas was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
