Basketball Recap: Laneville Comes Up Short

Laneville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 28-27 heartbreaker at the hands of the Apple Springs Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 45-42 back in January.

Apple Springs' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lauren Lankford, who posted six points and 12 rebounds. Lankford has been hot recently, having posted nine or more boards the last three times she's played.

Laneville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Apple Springs, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-24.

As of now, neither Laneville nor Apple Springs have any future games scheduled.
