Merritt Island had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Titusville Terriers with a sharp 3-0 victory on Monday. The Mustangs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Terriers, too.

Merritt Island was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-18, 25-16.

Ema Michell paced Merritt Island's offense, picking up ten kills. Michell got some help from Annabelle Jones and her 21 assists. Jones was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Merritt Island will head out on the road to square off against Satellite at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Titusville, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 win against East River on the 19th.
