Baseball Recap: Perry-Lecompton Has No Trouble Against Holton

Perry-Lecompton barely beat Holton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Kaws were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Wildcats on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Kaws in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won five in a row.

Garrett Metcalfe made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over 4.2 innings pitched. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kayden Baker, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025. Aeden Carlsten was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Perry-Lecompton's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 2-8. As for Holton, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-3.
