Basketball Recap: Central City Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Central City lost against Boone Central back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Central City Bison fell 61-52 to the Boone Central Cardinals. The loss was the Bison's first of the season.

Central City lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Karter Negus, who went 6 of 11 en route to 19 points. Those 19 points gave Negus a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jakob Ruhl, who posted 13 points and eight rebounds.

Central City's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-1. As for Boone Central, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Central City won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Centura at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Boone Central, they will also get right back to it: they'll take on Pierce at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
