Nevaeh Yorke and Emily Orcutt secure win for Norwich Free Academy

Recap: Norwich Free Academy Wildcats vs. Bacon Academy Bobcats
The Norwich Free Academy Wildcats lost to the Bacon Academy Bobcats back in February of 2023, but the Norwich Free Academy Wildcats didn't allow the Bacon Academy Bobcats the same satisfaction on Thursday. Norwich Free Academy walked away with a 49-36 win over Bacon Academy.
Leading Norwich Free Academy to victory were Nevaeh Yorke and Emily Orcutt. Yorke scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and five steals, while Orcutt scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Stringer, who scored five points.
The win got Norwich Free Academy back to even at 5-5. As for Bacon Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norwich Free Academy will take on Griswold at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Griswold is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. Bacon Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Simsbury at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Simsbury is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
