Basketball Recap: Kelliher/Northome Beats Walker-Hackensack-Akeley/Laporte for Their Eighth Straight Victory

Kelliher/Northome came tearing into Thursday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 67.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Walker-Hackensack-Akeley/Laporte Wolves by a score of 83-70.

Kelliher/Northome's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kate Thayer, who dropped a double-double with 37 points and 11 rebounds. Thayer is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 50 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Kylee Binkley, who almost dropped a triple-double with 22 points, 13 boards, and nine steals.

Kelliher/Northome smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive games.
