Softball Game Preview: Hickory Red Tornadoes vs. Bessemer City Yellow Jackets

The Hickory Red Tornadoes will head out on the road to face off against the Bessemer City Yellow Jackets at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Hickory hasn't scored more than two runs for four games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Hickory came up short against St. Stephens on Friday, falling 11-1.

Meanwhile, Bessemer City fell victim to Burns and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 19-0 to the Bulldogs. The loss continues a trend for the Yellow Jackets in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost eight in a row.

Bessemer City's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Hickory, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Everything went Hickory's way against Bessemer City when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Hickory made off with a 16-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hickory since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
