Concordia gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 76-30 victory over the Founders Classical Academy Archers. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Cardinals as it put an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Billy Charles went supernova for Concordia, rushing for 168 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, while also throwing for 70 yards and two touchdowns while completing 88.9% of his passes. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in rushing yards. Alexander Jones was another key player, rushing for 33 yards and a touchdown.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Concordia's defense and their four sacks. Founders Classical Academy's QB won't forget Kenny Cherico anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Cherico is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in the last six games he's played dating back to last season.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Concordia was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 494 total yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Founders Classical Academy only gained 297.

Although Founders Classical Academy took the loss, they still got scores from Elijah Carter, Luke Lewis, and Beck Sherwood.

Coincidentally, Concordia and Founders Classical Academy will both be playing St. Mary's the next time they take the field. Concordia will host St. Mary's at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Founders Classical Academy will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on September 13th.
