Baseball Recap: Falkville Starts Season with Loss at Home

Falkville unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Colbert Heights Wildcats on Saturday, falling 15-5. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Bryant Owens made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Peyton Davis was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

The victory (which was Colbert Heights' third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Coincidentally, Falkville and Colbert Heights will both be playing Tharptown the next time they take the field. Falkville will head out to face Tharptown at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Colbert Heights will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
