Basketball Recap: Uriah Williams' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Oakwood Academy over Madison Academy

Fans were treated to a battle of the Mustangs on Monday. Oakwood Academy came up short against Madison Academy, falling 72-49. Oakwood Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Madison Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Uriah Williams, who posted seven points. Jayson McCoy was another key player, putting up ten points.

Oakwood Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Madison Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Oakwood Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Valley Head at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 78 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Madison Academy, they will square off against Clay-Chalkville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
