Steele Canyon had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.2 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They came out on top against the Monte Vista Monarchs by a score of 59-50. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 65-48 last Tuesday.

Monte Vista lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Gabriel Alcantar, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Joseph Alvarado, who put up 12 points and five rebounds.

Steele Canyon's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-9. As for Monte Vista, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 14-12 record this season.

Steele Canyon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 62-46 victory against St. Joseph Academy on the 8th. As for Monte Vista, they will challenge Helix at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Helix has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 174 points over their last three contests.
