Baseball Game Preview: Renton Red Hawks vs. Highline Pirates

Renton is 2-8 against Highline since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. Renton will head out on the road to square off against Highline at 3:30 p.m. Neither Renton nor Highline posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Renton is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 14th straight game dating back to last season on Monday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Evergreen.

Renton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was David Thor, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Highline is still winless after their contest against Cedarcrest on Friday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Red Wolves.

Renton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Highline, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Renton suffered a grim 30-1 defeat to Highline in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Renton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
