Baseball Recap: Wilmot Wins Going Away Against Delavan-Darien

After low-scoring totals in their previous three match, Wilmot brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Delavan-Darien Comets on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Panthers have posted against the Comets since June 7, 2021.

Logan Hanson looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Michael McCormick, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Dzierzanowski, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

With the win, Wilmot broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-14. As for Delavan-Darien, they now have a losing record of 9-10-1.

Wilmot wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 8-2 loss against Badger on the 19th. As for Delavan-Darien, they have also already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Lakeside Lutheran on the 19th.
