Recap: Grace Academy Knights vs. Faith Christian Academy Falcons
The Grace Academy Knights came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Faith Christian Academy by a score of 49-40. Given Grace Academy's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 120th in Maryland, while Faith Christian Academy is ranked 294th in West Virginia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Peter Ciardiello continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with nine rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Grace Academy's points. Carson Feeser was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven steals.
Grace Academy pushed their record up to 7-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Faith Christian Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grace Academy will face off against Shalom Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Faith Christian Academy is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Cumberland Valley Christian at 8:00 p.m. on January 9th. Cumberland Valley Christian is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
