Preview: Martin County Knights vs. Southeast Alamance Stallions
Martin County is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Southeast Alamance is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Martin County Knights will take on the Southeast Alamance Stallions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Martin County will be strutting in after a win while Southeast Alamance will be coming in after a defeat.
Even though Bertie scored an imposing 32 points on Friday, Martin County still came out on top. Martin County took their contest against Bertie 41-32.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Martin County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaquavion Sheppard, who rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Sheppard is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Killebrew, who gained 79 total yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Southeast Alamance had to suffer through a rough 47-14 loss at the hands of Cummings.
Despite the loss, Southeast Alamance saw an underclassman step up: Daniel Bunker rushed for 134 yards.
Martin County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. As for Southeast Alamance, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
