Football Recap: Ruskin Comes Up Short

Ruskin lost against Raytown back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Golden Eagles were beaten by the Bluejays 49-8. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Bluejays are ranked 100th).

Raytown's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Traice Collier, who picked up 131 receiving yards and two TDs. Those 131 receiving yards gave Collier a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaeden Davis, who picked up 66 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

This is the second loss in a row for Ruskin and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Raytown, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Ruskin has already played their next matchup, a 49-0 loss against Fort Osage on the 3rd. As for Raytown, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 60-12 win against Truman on the 3rd.
