Baseball Game Preview: Woodhaven Warriors vs. Allen Park Jaguars

The Woodhaven Warriors will head out to challenge the Allen Park Jaguars at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Allen Park took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Woodhaven, who comes in off a win.

Woodhaven took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over Carlson.

The result came thanks to Talan Holladay-Smith's shutout, as he gave up just two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up a single earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Woodhaven's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Moritz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Meanwhile, Allen Park unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of Roosevelt by a score of 6-5.

Easton Danosky was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

Allen Park's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6-1. As for Woodhaven, their win bumped their record up to 19-7.

Woodhaven came up short against Allen Park in their previous matchup back in April, falling 9-5. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
