Basketball Game Preview: Telfair County Trojans vs. Metter Tigers

The Telfair County Trojans will take on the Metter Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Telfair County is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Wilcox County on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Telfair County was outmatched by Wilcox County and fell 66-34. The Trojans have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Ty'Teionna Jones, who posted nine points. Aamoni Posley also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Metter, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They strolled past Portal with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 62-45. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Metter pushed their record up to 18-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.6 points over those games. As for Telfair County, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-5.
