Baseball Game Preview: Kingman Bulldogs vs. Chino Valley Cougars

The Kingman Bulldogs will face off against the Chino Valley Cougars at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Kingman proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by six) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Williams 2-1. The two-run effort marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Kingman's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cash Collins, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Chino Valley lost 8-2 to River Valley on Tuesday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ryan Lamotte was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Kingman is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. Chino Valley now has a losing record of 4-5-1.

Chino Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Kingman hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .373. It's a different story for Chino Valley, though, as they've only averaged .244. Will they be able to contain Kingman's hitters?

Kingman beat Chino Valley 7-4 in their previous matchup back in February of 2022. Does Kingman have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chino Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
