Volleyball Recap: Newport Wins High-Profile Game Against Philomath

Newport faced Philomath in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Cubs were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Warriors. The victory was familiar territory for the Cubs, who have now won three games in a row.

Newport was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-13, 25-17.

Newport's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. As for Philomath, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-2 record.
