Basketball Recap: Excelsior Springs Takes a Loss

Excelsior Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 30th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 64-39 to the Raytown South Cardinals. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 537th, while the Cardinals are ranked 252nd).

Excelsior Springs' loss dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Raytown South, their victory bumped their record up to 7-14.

Looking ahead, Excelsior Springs is taking a road trip to face off against Grandview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Grandview knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Excelsior Springs likes a good challenge. Raytown South has already played their next contest (against Van Horn), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
