Basketball Recap: Senatobia Warriors vs. New Albany Bulldogs

Senatobia lost against New Albany back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Senatobia Warriors fell just short of the New Albany Bulldogs by a score of 66-64. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (61), the Warriors still had to take the loss.

It was another big night for Issac Gilbert, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds for New Albany. Gilbert continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Hubbard, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 13 points.

Senatobia's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for New Albany, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Senatobia will welcome South Pontotoc at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. New Albany will take on Pontotoc in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in New Albany's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Pontotoc has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
