Volleyball Game Preview: Classical Purple vs. East Providence Townies

The Classical Purple will head out on the road to challenge the East Providence Townies at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Classical is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Classical is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Bishop Hendricken, who was ranked fifth at the time (Classical was ranked third). The Purple walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Hawks on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, East Providence beat East Greenwich 3-1 on Tuesday.

Classical's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. As for East Providence, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Classical skirted past East Providence 3-2 in their previous matchup back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Purple since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
