Softball Game Preview: Princeton Panthers vs. Leonard Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers face off against the Tigers at 12:50 p.m. on Friday. Leonard took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Princeton, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Princeton turned things around against Bland on Thursday. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 10-5.

Jadyn Walton and Kamryn Proctor did most of the damage at the plate: Walton scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2, while Proctor scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. What's more, Walton posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zoie Rainey, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one double.

Meanwhile, Leonard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 24th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Legacy Christian Academy, falling 8-0.

Princeton's win bumped their record up to 3-6-1. As for Leonard, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Princeton took their victory against Leonard in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 13-0. Will Princeton repeat their success, or does Leonard have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
