Volleyball Recap: Eugenio Maria De Hostos Charter Comes Up Short on the Road Against Rochester School for the Deaf

Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Rochester School for the Deaf Wildcats, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hornets of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-12.

Leading Rochester School for the Deaf to victory were Brooklyn Christensen and Ashley Stuhlberg. Christensen had 11 digs and four aces, while Stuhlberg had four digs and one block. Christensen has been hot recently, having posted three or more aces the last four times she's played.

Rochester School for the Deaf's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Coming up, Rochester School for the Deaf will square off against Young Women's College Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter will be paying especially close attention to the Wildcats' match: after the Wildcats face off against the Griffins, they'll take on Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter again at 4:15 p.m. on the 23rd.
