Football Recap: Wells Leopards vs. Varsity Opponent
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wells). They blew past Varsity Opponent 56-16 at home on Friday. The Leopards pushed the score to 48-16 by the end of the third, a deficit the had no chance of recovering from.
Wells' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joe Dahl led the charge by rushing for 71 yards and a touchdown. Luis Martinez also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Wells' win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4.
Wells will face off against Owyhee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wells is facing Owyhee at the right time seeing as Owyhee is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Varsity Opponent, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 31-28 victory against Moscow on the 4th.
