Basketball Recap: Holdrege Drops Highest Score of Season Against Phillipsburg

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Holdrege). They blew past the Phillipsburg Panthers, posting a 103-51 win. The Dusters have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.

Holdrege got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Garret Johnson out in front who went 8 of 10 from beyond the arc en route to 36 points. The matchup was Johnson's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brycen Samuelson, who went 12 of 16 en route to 29 points and five assists.

Holdrege was working as a unit and finished the game with 29 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win (which was Holdrege's third in a row) raised their record to 9-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 42.7 points. As for Phillipsburg, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holdrege will challenge Valentine at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Phillipsburg, they will take on Russell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Phillipsburg is facing Russell at the right time seeing as Russell is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
