Football Recap: Deep Run Comes Up Short

The Deep Run Wildcats took a blow against the Lake Taylor Titans on Friday, falling 39-7. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 229th, while the Titans are ranked 73rd).

Even if they lost, Deep Run's defensive line still kept up the pressure with 4.5 sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Jack Everhart and Griffin Willis, who each picked up 1.5 sacks apiece.

Having lost for the first time this season, Deep Run fell to 2-1. As for Lake Taylor, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.
