Baseball Recap: San Marcos Has No Trouble Against Oxnard

San Marcos's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Oxnard Yellowjackets with a sharp 7-1 victory. The Royals have beaten the Yellowjackets the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Yellowjackets has come to flipping the script.

Ethan Frost-Stokhaug looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Patrick Foster, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. San Marcos is 3-1 when Foster posts two or more runs, but 2-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Landon Johnson, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

San Marcos' record is now 5-12. As for Oxnard, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Yellowjackets beat San Marcos by a score of 3-1 on Friday.
