Curtez Woods and David White provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Russell. The connection went for 90 yards, the longest such play in 5A Region 2 this season.
The Wildcats extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Russell County, 42-13. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
D.J. Bailey was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 152 yards on 39 carries as Valley lost to Danny Horn's team. T.J. Lowe also contributed to the rushing game with 18 yards on the ground.
The Wildcats' Bryant Horn and Lajarret Ford led 5A Region 2 in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Horn has thrown for 988 yards this season, while Ford has 26 catches for 338 yards. Joshua Johnson from Russell County leads the league in rushing with 637 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Eufaula takes on Carroll. The Tigers are in second place, while the Eagles are in fifth place.
Desmond Mccoy's team fell to Russell 42-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. Byron Johnson threw for 70 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 11 yards in the loss.
