Football Game Preview: East Hamilton Hurricanes vs. Soddy Daisy Trojans + How To Watch

After each having a week off, the East Hamilton Hurricanes and the Soddy Daisy Trojans will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Hamilton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Soddy Daisy likes a good challenge.

East Hamilton was handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Ooltewah last Friday. The Hurricanes were the clear victors by a 35-14 margin over the Owls. The Hurricanes haven't had any issues with the Owls recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Jermaine Heathington was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 141 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also picked up 94 receiving yards and one touchdown. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Another rusher making a difference was Jaden Haywood, who rushed for 108 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: East Hamilton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 247 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 168 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 35 points the game before, Soddy Daisy was a bit more limited in their contest last Friday. They took a blow against Bradley Central, falling 40-6. The defeat continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Bears: they've now lost five in a row.

Soddy Daisy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Luke Dodd and Logan Alexander.

East Hamilton's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Soddy Daisy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Everything came up roses for East Hamilton against Soddy Daisy in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, as the team secured a 42-0 victory. Will the Hurricanes repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
