Football Game Preview: Holy Cross Crusaders vs. Ansonia Chargers

Holy Cross hasn't had much luck against Ansonia recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Crusaders will venture away from home to face off against the Chargers at 6:00 p.m. Holy Cross will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.

Holy Cross is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Oxford: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Crusaders blew the Wolverines out of the water with a 58-22 final score. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Crusaders had established a 35-point advantage.

Meanwhile, Ansonia never let their opponents score on Friday. They breezed past Torrington to the tune of 39-0. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Holy Cross' win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Ansonia, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Holy Cross was taken down by Ansonia 48-13 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Crusaders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
