Basketball Game Preview: Ben Davis Giants vs. Pike Red Devils

Ben Davis has gone a perfect 10-0 against Pike recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Ben Davis Giants will square off against the Pike Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Ben Davis turned things around against Indianapolis Arsenal Technical on Friday. They walked away with a 63-51 victory over the Titans. Given the Giants' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Titans are ranked 224th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sherman Moss was a one-man wrecking crew for Ben Davis as he went 6-for-10 en route to 15 points and five steals. Those five steals gave Moss a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jashawn Ladd, who shot 60% from the field to rack up 13 points and five rebounds.

Ben Davis was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They are 15-6 when they've passed the ball that well.

Meanwhile, Pike hadn't done well against Warren Central recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Pike came out on top against Warren Central by a score of 56-49.

Ben Davis' win bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Pike, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.

Ben Davis beat Pike 67-55 in their previous meeting back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ben Davis since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
