Soccer Game Preview: High Tech Mesa vs. Victory Christian Academy

The High Tech Mesa Thunder will head out on the road to square off against the Victory Christian Academy Knights at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.

High Tech Mesa is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering St. Joseph Academy just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crusaders. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, the Thunder couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Victory Christian Academy waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Legionnaires by a score of 3-1. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by exactly two goals.

They hit Bonsall with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Lazaro Piperi, Josue Triche, and Gabriel Aguirre.

Victory Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those seven matchups. As for High Tech Mesa, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-2.

Everything went High Tech Mesa's way against Victory Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as High Tech Mesa made off with a 4-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for High Tech Mesa since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
