Randolph Southern hasn't had much luck against Northeastern recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Randolph Southern is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 24th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They lost 16-10 to Liberty Christian. On the bright side, the ten- run effort marked the Rebels' highest-scoring contest to date.
Meanwhile, Northeastern never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Winchester Community with a sharp 14-0 win. Considering the Knights have won four games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Hailey Elsrod made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Isabella Peed was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ti'Aja Adams, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.
Northeastern lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in May of 2024.
Northeastern is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Randolph Southern, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.
