Basketball Recap: Timothy Christian Trojans vs. Chicago Hope Academy

After losing to Chicago Hope Academy the last time they met, the Timothy Christian Trojans decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Timothy Christian managed a 37-33 win over the on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Timothy Christian.

Timothy Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sami Drye, who scored ten points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Elisabeth Van Den Berg, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.

Despite the loss, Chicago Hope Academy saw an underclassman step up: Tiana Simmons scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Simmons has scored all season. Another player making a difference was London Davis, who scored 12 points.

Chicago Hope Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Timothy Christian's win bumped their record up to 11-16. As for Chicago Hope Academy, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Timothy Christian will take on the Patriots at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Calumet Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Friday. As for Chicago Hope Academy, they will be playing at home against the Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
