Baseball Recap: Seth Ishmael's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Summit Charter Collegiate Academy over Orange Cove

Summit Charter Collegiate Academy extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-8-1 in the process. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 11-1 to the Orange Cove Titans, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Summit Charter Collegiate Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Seth Ishmael, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

As for Orange Cove, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-9. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games.

On Orange Cove's side, the team relied heavily on Adan Hernandez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave Hernandez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Benjamin Garza, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Summit Charter Collegiate Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 10-8 loss against Farmersville on the 29th. As for Orange Cove, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-1 win against Orosi on the 28th.
