Volleyball Recap: Martin Luther Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Martin Luther can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the New Berlin West Vikings on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2022.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-15, 25-13.

Andriana Jones paced Martin Luther's offense, picking up four kills. Jones got some help from Taryn Armbruster and her six assists. Armbruster was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Martin Luther moved to 15-20 with that loss, which also ended their three-match winning streak. As for New Berlin West, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-9.

Martin Luther does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Berlin West, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Port Washington on the 25th.
