Homestead extended the longest winning streak in 6A District 16 this week by beating Varela, 23-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Belen Jesuit took down Doral Academy 41-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Two highly touted recruits will be in the spotlight when Central and Homestead meet this week. The Rockets features well-regarded defensive back Ahmad Thomas while Patrick Burrows's team has Ermon Lane, a sought after junior.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Central takes on the Broncos. As it stands, Telly Lockette's team is in fourth, while Homestead is in first.
