Recap: Lake Brantley Patriots vs. Winter Park Wildcats

If The Lake Brantley Patriots were riding high off their 36-14 takedown of the Centennial Eagles last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Lake Brantley's tough 47-24 defeat to Winter Park on Friday might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Lake Brantley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 225th, while Winter Park is ranked 69th).

Despite the loss, Lake Brantley still got an impressive performance from Tavin Hebert, who rushed for 146 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries. Hebert's longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards.

Joseph Goho went supernova for Winter Park, rushing for 211 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 carries. Another player making a difference was Aaron Williams, who threw for 310 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 14.1 yards per attempt.

Lake Brantley has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which is still a better percentage than their 1-9 record this season. As for Winter Park, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Lake Brantley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Winter Park will be playing at home against Lake Nona at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
