Baseball Recap: Everett Comes Up Short

If Everett was riding high fresh off their 10-1 takedown of Ypsilanti on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings lost 17-2 to the Waverly Warriors on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost seven in a row.

Kannan Rensberry made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That double was his first of the season. Owen Prevo was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one run.

Everett's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Waverly, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Everett will face off against Carman-Ainsworth at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Waverly, they will challenge Charlotte at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
