Preview: Farmingdale Dalers vs. Academy Charter
Farmingdale has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on Academy Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Farmingdale's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Farmingdale scored the most points they've had all season to find success two weeks ago. They took down Freeport 72-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Academy Charter's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Port Washington, falling 71-39. Academy Charter was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-12.
Jovani Dorismond put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Joel Beard, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Farmingdale's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Academy Charter, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-14.
Farmingdale strolled past Academy Charter when the teams last played back in January by a score of 62-44. Does Farmingdale have another victory up their sleeve, or will Academy Charter turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
