League recap: Rossomando overpowering for Bunnell in past week

Southwest - Colonial's top pitcher this week was Bunnell's Ronnie Rossomando. Over the past week, he had zero wins and 13 Ks.

Pomperaug (19-1, 12-0) has won 19 games in a row, the league's longest active win streak. The streak was extended by another four games over the past week, including a 3-2 victory over Notre Dame Catholic and a 9-0 win over Stratford.

Newtown still leads the league with just 105 base hits give up over the entire season, but Masuk gave up the fewest hits in the league over the past week (six).

Stratford's Jordan Weiss led the league with seven hits this week. On the season, he's hitting .339 and ranks eigth in the league with 21 hits.

Newtown's Kyle Wilcox threw six shutout innings in an 8-0 win over Stratford on Monday. He pitched six scoreless innings and struck out eight, while giving up three hits.
