Basketball Game Preview: Grinnell Tigers vs. Center Point-Urbana Stormin' Pointers

Grinnell and Center Point-Urbana are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Grinnell Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Center Point-Urbana Stormin' Pointers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Center Point-Urbana took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Grinnell, who comes in off a win.

Grinnell is coming into the game on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight wins. They secured a 53-49 W over Independence on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by exactly four points.

Meanwhile, Center Point-Urbana was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 61-60 to Clear Creek-Amana. The Stormin' Pointers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Grinnell's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Center Point-Urbana, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-4.

Grinnell skirted past Center Point-Urbana 52-49 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Will Grinnell repeat their success, or does Center Point-Urbana have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
