Volleyball Recap: Western Wayne Wildcats vs. Tunkhannock Tigers
Western Wayne lost against Tunkhannock back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-2.
Western Wayne started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-27, 25-9, 25-13, 15-8.
Lauren Beamer paced Western Wayne's offense, picking up ten kills. Beamer got some help from Abbie Washine and her ten assists. Phoebe Schmitt controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Western Wayne's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Coincidentally, Western Wayne and Tunkhannock will both be playing Lake-Lehman the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will head out to face the Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Tigers will host them at 5:00 p.m. on September 3.
