Football Recap: Wilson Victorious

Wilson strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 13-12 W against the Villa Park Spartans.

Wilson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hailey Castro out in front who rushed for 54 yards and one score on only six carries. Another player making a difference was Ceci Diaz-Ponce, who rushed for 60 yards and one TD.

Wilson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Jimena Cortes led the group effort, picking up three of those interceptions all by herself.

Wilson's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Villa Park, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Wilson will square off against Whittier at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Villa Park, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 26-0 loss against El Toro on the 18th.
